Joseph Hatch

Art Director & UI Designer

Joseph Hatch

I'm an art director, UI designer and illustrator. I love working with clients to help them define their brands and designing pretty much anything for new or existing companies.

In my downtime, I can be found playing music, painting, building stringed instruments or working with my honeybees.

I started my design education in the Industrial Design Technology program at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. A few years later I began my professional career as an illustrator for 36squares in Holland, Michigan. (Mainly, graphic design: crafting logos, apparel design, digital and print design, including beer packaging and labels for New Holland Brewing Company).

Moving to the Madison, Wisconsin area with my wife and kids in 2010 I freelanced as a web and graphic designer for companies such as AI Film & Video, and Duluth Trading Company. I then helped launch Synqronus Communications, a media production company, as their Creative Director and UX Designer. While in Wisconsin, I earned a Web Design & Development certificate and an Associate of Arts degree in Graphic Design & Illustration from Madison College.

In 2017, I accepted a position that brought me back to Michigan, as the Senior Art Director at REGROUP, a brand transforation & marketing agency in Ann Arbor where I worked with brands such as DTE Energy, Molly Maid, DFCU Financial, Angela Hospice, and Camp Woodbury. In 2021, I joined DO:BETTER to pursue strictly brand design work as their Art Director working with Automation Alley, the Integr8 Conference, XN Supplements, and Prentice 4M.
